The Walls are Going Up!
Now that the weather is warming up, a specialized construction crew is starting on the block walls! Not only is the air temperature important, but also the blocks must be above 40 degrees Fahrenheit. The crew will go work in five foot increments.
The twenty-five foot tall concrete pillars you see are only the first half of the walls, as the finished height will be fifty feet. Laying blocks is expected to last about ten weeks.
In the meantime, other crew members are working on upgrades to the existing building, such as:
-
Redesigning the Edison Theatre which will now be a smaller room for Black Box productions and rehearsals, with a flexible floor space.
-
Restrooms to support the larger facility.
-
Dressing Rooms with corridor access to the stage.
-
Air Conditioning.
